Bundles
What it is for
A bundle in Membership joins several courses into one whole that is sold and assigned at once. Whoever has the bundle has access to every course in it. A bundle also has its own bundle page, which the member sees after opening the bundle — with text, a video, course tiles and supplementary content.
A bundle is sold through a product just like a course. The product's variants decide the access length (for example 3 months, 12 months, lifetime) — for all the bundle's courses at once.
Where to find it
- In the left menu, click Membership (the graduation cap icon).
- Click Membership administration.
- In the tabs under the heading click Courses & bundles.
- Bundles are in the table with a Bundle chip in the Type column. Show only bundles via Filters → Type → Bundle.
Clicking a bundle row opens the bundle editor.
What the bundle editor looks like
The bundle editor in Membership shows the path Membership → Courses & bundles → bundle name in its header, the tabs below it and the Save button on the right above the content, which saves all tabs at once.
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Content | the Courses in Bundle card — which courses the bundle contains |
| Settings | the Details card: Bundle Title, the Draft / Published switch, Cover Image, Bundle Description |
| Access & sales | the Product card — the product the bundle is sold through |
| Appearance | the Bundle page card — the page a member sees after opening the bundle; Preview button |
How to create a bundle
Before you start:
- The courses that should be in the bundle must exist (see Courses & bundles). For a member to open them, they must be Published.
- You need Courses and content → Create and, to edit the bundle, Courses and content → Edit.
Steps:
- In the left menu, click Membership → Membership administration.
- In the tabs under the heading click Courses & bundles.
- Top right, click Create.
- In the menu, click Bundle.
- In the New Bundle dialog fill in Bundle Title (required).
- Click Create.
Successfully created appears and the new bundle's editor opens on the Content tab. The bundle starts as a Draft.
How to add courses to a bundle
- Open the bundle editor (Membership → Membership administration → Courses & bundles → bundle row).
- In the tabs of the editor click Content.
- In the Courses in Bundle card (Select courses to include in this bundle) click Add Course at the top right.
- In the Select courses for bundle dialog tick the courses. The search above the list helps. The list does not contain bundles or courses that are already in the bundle.
- Click Add Course (number) at the bottom of the dialog.
The courses are added immediately — you do not have to click Save. You see:
- Courses were added to the bundle., or
- Courses added to the bundle and granted to X members. — if someone already has the bundle. These people got access to the new courses automatically (and an email about them).
Each course in the card shows its number of modules and lessons.
How to remove a course from a bundle
- In the bundle editor, click Content in the tabs.
- In the Courses in Bundle card click the bin icon Delete next to the course.
What follows depends on whether anyone has the course through the bundle:
- Nobody has it through the bundle — the course is removed right away and Course was removed from the bundle. appears.
- Someone has it through the bundle — the dialog Remove course from bundle? opens with “…” will no longer be part of the bundle. and the warning X members hold this course through the bundle. What should happen to their access? Choose:
| Button | What happens |
|---|---|
| Keep their access | the course leaves the bundle, but current members keep it |
| Revoke their access | the course leaves the bundle and members who had it only through the bundle lose it (message Course removed from the bundle; X members lost access.) |
| Cancel | nothing changes |
The course itself is not deleted — it stays in Courses & bundles.
How to set the bundle's title, image and description
- In the bundle editor, click Settings in the tabs.
- In the Details card fill in:
| Field | Required | What it means | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bundle Title | yes | the name in the course catalog and on the bundle page | max. 255 characters |
| Cover Image | no | the bundle's image in the catalog | image, max. 5 MB |
| Bundle Description | no | This text appears on the bundle's card in the course listing. On the bundle page itself it is replaced by the content under “Bundle page”. | formatted text |
- Top right, click Save.
How to sell a bundle (product and variants)
A bundle is sold through a product. Each product variant is one access length with its own price — these are the "bundle variants".
Before you start: prepare a product of type Course with access-length variants in Products, or create it straight from the bundle (step 4).
- In the bundle editor, click Access & sales in the tabs.
- In the Product card click Link a product.
- In the Select the course product panel click a product, or
- click New product — the product form opens with type Course and the bundle's name; after saving, the product is linked automatically.
- Top right, click Save.
The Product card then shows the product's variants (access lengths). Once the order is paid, the buyer gets access to every course in the bundle for the length of the variant bought. If they have no account, one is created (see Settings → Access).
On the bundle page, someone who does not have the bundle yet sees a panel with the price and a Buy bundle button. Without a product the panel is not shown.
How to edit the bundle page
The Bundle page is the page a member sees after opening the bundle (A custom home page members see when they open this bundle.). It is built from sections just like the membership Home page.
- In the bundle editor, click Appearance in the tabs.
- The Bundle page card shows the Page sections list. A new bundle comes with two sections: Block (intro text) and Tiles with the source Courses in the bundle.
- Open a section by clicking its row. Edit what you need (heading, text, media, buttons, appearance) — all fields are described in the Home page chapter.
- Add a new section with Add section (Block, Tiles, Text block, Divider).
- Change the order of sections by dragging.
- Top right, click Save.
Differences from the membership home page:
- A Tiles section offers only two sources: My own pick and Courses in the bundle. My own pick = you build the content by hand and may point at a course outside the bundle — the member sees it locked, with a prompt to get access. Automatic sources only ever list this bundle's own content.
- A section with the Courses in the bundle source cannot be deleted if it is the only one — The bundle has to keep listing its courses. Hide the section instead of removing it.
- The bundle page has no on/off switch — it is always built from its sections.
- Supplementary content is attached to a bundle by placing its tile on the bundle page (Tiles section → My own pick → Add item → Supplementary content). Access to supplementary content comes from it being on this page. Remove the tile and members lose it — their saved progress stays. See Supplementary content.
The Preview button in the card header opens the bundle page in a new tab (saved state).
How to publish a bundle
- In the bundle editor, click Settings in the tabs.
- In the Details card switch Draft to Published.
- Top right, click Save.
A published bundle is in the Course catalog (filter Bundle). The courses in it must also be Published, otherwise the member cannot open them in the bundle.
How to check it works
- In the left menu, click Membership → Course catalog and switch to the Bundle tab.
- Click the bundle — the bundle page opens. Someone without the bundle sees the Buy bundle panel (if a product is linked) and course tiles with a lock.
- Assign the bundle to yourself as a test in Members (Assign course → pick the bundle) and check that the courses unlocked and are in My learning.
How to give a person a bundle without a purchase
A bundle is assigned like a course: Membership → Membership administration → Members → Assign course and in the Select Courses field pick the bundle (it has a Bundle label under its name). The person gets every course in the bundle. Details in the Members chapter.
How to delete a bundle
- On the Courses & bundles screen click "…" → Delete in the bundle row.
- Confirm in the dialog with Delete.
The bundle editor has no delete button. You need Courses and content → Delete.
DANGER
Deleting a bundle cannot be undone. The courses in it are not deleted.
Who can do this
Permission matrix, module Membership, row Courses and content:
| What you want to do | Permission needed |
|---|---|
| open the bundle editor | Courses and content → View |
| create a bundle | Courses and content → Create |
| add and remove courses, product, bundle page, publishing | Courses and content → Edit |
| delete a bundle | Courses and content → Delete |
Common questions and problems
My course is not in the Select courses for bundle dialog. The course is already in the bundle, or it is a bundle (a bundle cannot contain another bundle). Supplementary content is not added with this dialog but with a tile on the bundle page.
I added a course to the bundle and people got an email. Yes — people who already had the bundle got the new course automatically and were told by email.
A member has the bundle but cannot open a course in it. The course is in Draft — publish it.
The Buy bundle button is missing on the bundle page. The bundle has no linked product (Access & sales tab), or that person already has it.
I can't delete the section with the bundle's courses. It has to stay on the page. Hide it with the eye icon.
