How to start selling a product
What it is for
This procedure takes you through the whole chain from an empty organization to the first paid order with an invoice: currencies → payment gateway → invoicing → VAT → product → sales form (or funnel) → test purchase → order and documents. Every step links to the chapter with the details.
Do the steps in this order — later steps build on earlier ones (for example, a product price is entered for every currency you have set up).
How to create a sales page
Doubleros has no separate "sales page" type. A sales page is an ordinary website page or funnel step with a sales form placed on it. The customer fills in the form, an order is created and they go on to pay.
You have two options:
| You want | Use |
|---|---|
| one page where the customer buys the product straight away | a website page with a sales form (steps below) |
| a whole sales path: page → order → extra offer → thank-you | a funnel, built by the AI funnel builder |
A website page with a sales form:
- Create a product with a price in Sales → Products and turn on Publish — see Products.
- In the left menu click Content → Projects and open the project.
- In the content panel, next to the Forms heading, click + (tooltip New form).
- In the General card set Form type → Sales form and in Select products... pick the product. Click Save — see How to set up a sales form.
- Open the page the form belongs on and place it with Insert element → Form — see How to place a form on a page.
- Publish the page — see Publishing.
Without a payment gateway the form cannot take payment — set it up with steps 1 to 5 below.
Before you start
- A role with Organization → Settings → Edit, Sales → Settings → Edit (tax classes), Sales → Products → Create, Content → Projects → Edit and Content → Forms → Create (for a funnel also Content → Funnels) and Sales → Orders → View (see Permission matrix). The organization owner has all of them.
- A contract with a payment gateway (Stripe, GoPay or Comgate) and access to its admin.
- If you want invoices automatically: an account in FAPI or iDoklad (or POHODA for manual export).
Step 1: Set currencies and languages
- In the left menu click Organization → Settings.
- In the tabs click Localization.
- Fill in Default currency and Supported currencies (orders can be paid in EUR and CZK).
- Fill in Default language and Supported languages.
- Click Save.
Details: Organization settings.
Step 2: Fill in the billing details
- In Organization → Settings click Billing details in the tabs.
- Fill in the company name, company ID, tax ID, VAT ID and address.
- Click Save.
These details appear on the documents.
Step 3: Connect a payment gateway
- In the left menu click Organization → Integrations.
- In the tabs click Payment Gateway.
- In the Payment gateway field select Stripe, GoPay or Comgate and fill in the details. Start with the gateway's test environment.
- Set up the gateway notifications (Stripe webhook, Comgate Url for payment result transfer).
- Click Save.
- In the Payment methods section switch on the payment methods for each currency and click Save.
Details: Payment Gateway.
Step 4: Set up invoicing and the VAT mode
- In Organization → Integrations click Invoicing Provider in the tabs.
- Select FAPI, iDoklad or POHODA and fill in the details.
- At the bottom of the panel check VAT mode (Domestic — always your home country’s rate, OSS — rate by the customer’s country or Not a VAT payer — you sell without VAT).
- Click Save.
- In Organization → Settings → Transactional emails switch on the emails the customer should get (Order confirmation, Payment confirmation, Invoice; with FAPI also Proforma invoice and the reminders). Click Save.
Step 5: Check the VAT rates
- In the left menu click Sales → Settings.
- In the tabs click Tax classes.
- Check the rates for the countries you sell to and the default class.
Details: Eshop settings, VAT.
Step 6: Create the product
- In the left menu click Sales → Products.
- Top right, click Create product.
- In the What do you want to create? window choose Product or Course (the type cannot be changed later).
- In the General section fill in Product name and switch on Publish — otherwise the product is not on sale and the form will not offer it.
- In the tabs click Pricing, enter the price (including VAT) in every currency you sell in, and pick a class in the Tax class row.
- Click Create product at the top right.
Details: How to create a product. If you sell a course, set the access lengths as in How to set up a Course product and assign the product to the course in Membership → Membership administration — the full procedure is in How to create and sell a course.
Step 7: Create a sales form or funnel
- In the left menu click Content → Projects and open a project (or create one).
- In the content panel, next to the Forms heading, click the + icon (tooltip New form). The form is created at once as Untitled form, is already published, and its editor opens.
- On the General tab rename it, set Form type to Sales form and in Select products... pick the product from step 6.
- Optionally switch on Instalment sales.
- Click Save in the bar at the bottom of the editor.
- Place the form on a page or in a funnel step and publish the page.
Step 8: Make a test purchase
- Open the published page with the form as a customer (for example in a private window).
- Fill in the details, choose a payment method and send the order.
- Pay with the gateway's test card.
- Check that you returned to the thank-you page and the emails arrived.
Step 9: Check the order and documents
- In the left menu click Sales → Orders.
- The test order shows Paid.
- Open it — top right there is an Invoice button (with FAPI also Proforma invoice).
- If it is a course, check that the customer has access in the membership area.
Details: Orders.
Step 10: Switch to live selling
- In Organization → Integrations → Payment Gateway switch to live details (live Stripe keys, GoPay Production, Comgate Test mode off).
- Click Refresh, check Payment methods and click Save.
- Cancel the test order in Sales → Orders via Change status if it was not paid, so it does not skew the statistics. A paid order cannot be cancelled.
How to check it works
Selling works when a customer's live order:
- shows Paid in Sales → Orders without you doing anything,
- has an Invoice button and the customer got the Invoice email,
- appears in Statistics → Finance in the Paid over time (excl. VAT) chart (the Statistics menu is there only when the plan includes CRM; see Finance).
Common questions and problems
I don't see price fields on the product. The organization has no currencies set — go back to step 1.
The order stays “Awaiting payment” even though the customer paid. The gateway notification is missing — see step 3 and Payment Gateway.
The order has no Invoice button. No invoicing tool is selected (step 4), or the tool is still creating the document — try again in a moment. With POHODA invoices are created only by an export in Exports.
