How to build a sales funnel from scratch

What this walkthrough gets you

At the end you have a public funnel that takes a visitor through a sales page, a checkout with payment, an extra offer (upsell), a cheaper alternative (downsell) and a thank-you page. Orders go into the e-shop and contacts into the CRM.

The walkthrough spans several modules. Each step links to the chapter with the details.

Step 1: How to prepare the payment gateway

  1. In the left sidebar, open Organization → Integrations and in the Payment Gateway section connect Stripe, GoPay or Comgate — see Payment Gateway.
  2. Check the currencies in Organization → Settings → Localization — see Organization settings.

Without a gateway, the funnel will not sell. If you also want to sell in instalments, see Instalment sales.

Step 2: How to create the products

  1. In the left sidebar, open Products and create the main product (e.g. a course) with its price.
  2. Create a product for the extra offer (upsell) and for the cheaper alternative (downsell).
  3. If you sell a course, link the product to the course in Courses.

The AI funnel builder in step 4 can create products too, but your own products have exact prices and settings from the start.

Step 3: How to create a project

  1. In the left sidebar, click Content → Projects.
  2. At the top right, click New project.
  3. Enter the Project name and click Create.

Details: Projects. If you already have a project (e.g. with a website), use it.

Step 4: How to let the AI design the funnel

  1. In the project Studio, click + next to Funnels in the content panel (or the Funnel card in an empty project).
  2. In What do you want to sell?, describe the product, audience, price and extra offers, for example I sell an online photography course for beginners for €49. After the order I offer a 1:1 consultation for €99, and if they decline, an e-book for €9.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. On the Here's how your funnel will look screen, check the steps: Sales → Checkout → Upsell → Downsell → Thank you. For the upsell and downsell choose your products (the list only offers products the AI found in your system or proposed — if yours is missing, go Back and write its exact name in the description); for the Upsell, set After decline to the Downsell.
  5. Fix the warnings (the Add one button) and click Confirm steps.
  6. Wait for the funnel to be generated (you can close the window).

Details: AI funnel builder.

Step 5: How to review and polish the funnel

  1. In the storyboard (Steps), check where each step's buttons lead.
  2. Open each step (Edit) and adjust the texts in the chat or directly (Edit text).
  3. On the Checkout step, check the form: hover over the form → Fields → product, Purchase mode, consents, automations. See Forms.
  4. On the Upsell and Downsell steps, check the buy button: hover over the button → Edit → Buy a product and the right Product. In Then continues to, check where the customer goes after the purchase — see How to set up a thank-you page.
  5. Set the SEO and measurement (GTM, Pixel) in Project settings and SEO.

Details: Funnels, Studio editor.

Step 6: How to test the funnel

  1. Keep Test mode on in Funnel settings — payments are only simulated.
  2. In the storyboard, click Open on the first step.
  3. Go through the funnel as a customer: checkout, upsell, decline, downsell, thank-you page.
  4. Check that details are prefilled and that every button leads to the right place.

Test purchases are not counted in the analytics.

Step 7: How to launch the funnel

  1. In Funnel settings, turn Test mode off.
  2. In the top bar, click Publish.
  3. If the funnel should stand at the project's address, click the gear (Settings) in the narrow icon strip on the left and, in the Home page card, choose this funnel in the Opens field — see Project settings and SEO.
  4. Optionally attach a custom domain.

Details: Publishing.

How to check the funnel sells

  1. Open the funnel's public address in a private window and make a real purchase (e.g. of a cheap product).
  2. Check the new order in Orders and the contact in Clients.
  3. After a few days, watch the funnel's Analytics tab to see where people drop off.

Who can follow this walkthrough

You need permissions for products (Sales → Products → Create), projects (Projects → Create and Edit), funnels (Funnels → Create and Edit) and, for forms the AI proposes, also Forms → Create — see the permission matrix.
