Project settings and SEO

What project settings and SEO are for

Each project has two screens with shared settings for the website and all funnels:

  • SEO — title and description for search engines, indexing, favicon, share image, tracking codes (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel), custom scripts, sitemap.xml and robots.txt.
  • Settings — project name, what opens at the home address, custom domain, invoicing, developer mode and an overview of the public addresses.

A single page or funnel step can override most of this with its own setting — see Website and pages and Funnels.

Where to find project settings and SEO

  1. In the left menu, click Content → Projects.
  2. Click the project card.
  3. In the narrow icon strip on the far left, click:
    • the magnifier (SEO), or
    • the gear (Settings).

The icon strip is only on a wide screen (1200 px and more). On a narrower screen, laptops included, click the panel icon in the top bar (Expand menu) and in the side menu choose SEO or Settings in the Project group.

While a page or a step is open, the Other segment of the mode switch in the top bar opens Settings too (tooltip Other — The project's SEO and settings).

How to set up the project's SEO

Before you start

  • The project must have at least one page or funnel. Otherwise you see Make something first — SEO describes a page or a funnel.
  • You need the permission Projects → Edit.

Steps

  1. Open SEO (the magnifier in the icon strip).
  2. Fill in the cards one below the other (see the tables below).
  3. Click Save in the bar at the bottom — it saves every changed card at once. (Images are saved as soon as they are uploaded, without a button.)

Next to the cards you see the Search result preview and the Shared link preview — how the page will look in Google and when shared on social networks. On a phone you switch between the cards and the preview in the surface switcher (SEO / Preview).

Base SEO card

What every page publishes until it says something of its own.

FieldRequiredWhat it meansLimits
Titlenothe title in search results60 characters recommended, at most 255; above the recommendation it warns … characters too long, saving is still possible
Descriptionnothe description in search results155 characters recommended, at most 500
Website languagenothe language of every funnel step and of every page that did not choose its own in its settings; Not set (Slovak) means Slovakwhen the project has none, it is filled in from the language picked when you start a website or funnel; for an older project the website's language is offered and stored with Save
Allow indexing—whether search engines may index the pages; off publishes noindex, nofollowapplies to every page that does not decide for itself

Images card

FieldWhat it meansLimits
Faviconthe icon in the browser tabPNG, SVG or ICO (also JPEG) up to 512 kB; PNG and JPEG are cropped before upload in the Crop the icon window
Default share imagethe image shown when a link is shared, for every page without its own; also the image on the project card in the Projects listPNG, JPEG, WebP up to 5 MB, 1200 × 630 px works best; cropping in the Crop the share image window, button Crop and upload

Images are saved as soon as they are uploaded. On an error you see Could not upload the image.

Scripts in <head> and Scripts before </body> cards

FieldWhat goes in it
HTML for <head>analytics, a pixel, a verification tag — written into the <head> of every website page and funnel step exactly as you type it
HTML for the end of the pagethe part of a snippet that belongs after the content (e.g. the noscript part of Tag Manager)

A page or step with its own scripts replaces the project scripts (does not add to them).

Measurement and pixels card

Applies to the whole project: every page of the site and every funnel step. Enter the ID only, the code is assembled for you.

FieldFormatWhere to find it
Google Tag Manager — container IDGTM-XXXXXXXin Tag Manager at the top right next to the container name
Google Analytics 4 — measurement IDG-XXXXXXXXXXGoogle Analytics: Admin → Data streams → your website
Meta Pixel — pixel IDdigits only (usually 15 or 16)Meta Events Manager under the pixel name

If any ID has the wrong format, nothing is saved (One of the ids is not in the right shape, so nothing was saved — saving would have switched measurement off. Fix it and save again.).

Measurement entered on a specific page or step replaces the project measurement there — visits from it are not counted in the project measurement.

Crawler files card

The sitemap.xml and robots.txt fields show exactly what the website publishes. The files are generated on every build of the website.

  • How to change them: overwrite the text in the field and click Save in the bar at the bottom of SEO.
  • How to go back to the automatic ones: empty the field and save (Clear the box and save to hand the file back to the build.).

How to check that SEO works

After publishing, open the page in the browser: you see the favicon in the tab. The crawler files are at <website address>/sitemap.xml and <website address>/robots.txt.

How to rename a project

  1. Open Settings (the gear).
  2. In the Project name card, overwrite the Project name field.
  3. Click Save in the bar at the bottom (or Enter).

You see Saved. Only the internal name changes — the public address stays. Enter only saves when you have actually changed the name.

How to set what opens at the project address

The Home page card (What opens at the root of the project’s address.) decides what a visitor sees at the project address itself or on the custom domain.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. In the Home page card, open the Opens field.
  3. Choose a page from the Pages group or a funnel from the Funnels group (for a funnel, the first step: … opens).
  4. The choice is saved at once (Home page changed).

Below the field you see the address where the choice opens. While the website has changes waiting to be published, the card reminds you The change reaches a visitor once the project is published.

If the project has no page or funnel, the card shows Nothing to put there yet — create a page or a funnel. If nothing is selected, you see Nothing is served at the root of the domain yet.

If an unpublished funnel stands at the home address, the card warns The funnel is not published, so the project address answers 404. Publish it — the link in the funnel's settings takes you there.

How to connect a custom domain

The Custom domain card in Settings.

  1. In the Domain field, type the domain on its own, for example mydomain.com. The field already shows https:// in front, so do not type it.
  2. Click Attach (or press Enter).

If you paste a whole address from the browser, the app keeps only the domain and says so below the field (We removed https:// — the domain on its own is enough.). If the domain is not in the right shape, the field turns red and shows Enter the domain on its own, for example mydomain.com — no https:// and no path.

After attaching you see Domain attached, and the card keeps the domain name with a Detach domain button. Detaching has to be confirmed; the project then answers on its address here and the content is untouched. This does not buy a domain or change DNS automatically.

The whole procedure including DNS is in the chapter Custom domain.

Where I see the project's public addresses

The Addresses panel (Where the project answers publicly right now.) sits next to the Settings cards. On a phone you switch to it in the surface switcher (Settings / Addresses).

RowWhat it means
Primarythe custom domain with the status Verified, Waiting for DNS or Checking DNS…
Our addressthe project address on the Doubleros platform; until the domain is verified it has the label links go here

The row says what stands at the address (Page: … or Funnel: … · step …). Without a domain you see No custom domain yet — the project answers on our address, and always will.

With a domain attached, below the panel you find:

  • the result of the DNS check — DNS points to the platform. …, The domain currently points to … or The domain does not resolve yet — a DNS change can take several hours.,
  • the Check again button (the icon at the top right of the Addresses panel does the same),
  • instructions for the DNS records to set — see Custom domain.

How to set up the project's invoicing

The Invoicing card decides which FAPI form the documents for this project's orders are filed under.

  1. In Settings, in the Invoicing card, choose the FAPI form.
  2. Click Save.

The setting overrides the organization setting; a specific form can override it with its own (see Forms → Invoicing).

What developer mode is

The Developer mode card and the Turn on developer mode switch offer the Live session mode in the editor — a terminal with the AI over the project itself. It applies to the whole Studio (not one project) and only this browser remembers it. A regular user does not need it. See Studio editor.

How to delete a project from the settings

In Settings, at the bottom left, click the red Delete project and confirm Delete. The consequences are described in the chapter Projects.

Who can change settings and SEO

What you want to doPermission needed
see settings and SEOProjects → View
change settings, SEO, domain, imagesProjects → Edit
delete a projectProjects → Delete

Without the edit permission you see You do not have permission to edit this project. in Settings (SEO does not show this text). The fields may look active, but the app refuses to save.

Common questions and problems with settings

"A container ID looks like GTM-ABC1234 — GTM- followed by letters and digits." Enter only the container ID in Google Tag Manager — container ID, not the whole code. The same for GA4: A measurement ID looks like G-AB12CD34EF…

"A pixel ID is digits only, usually 15 or 16 of them." The Meta Pixel — pixel ID field takes only the number.

"The site is published, but something did not make it onto the pages — a measurement id in the wrong shape, for example." Check the Measurement and pixels card.

Measurement does not work on one page. The page has its own measurement or scripts that replace the project's. Check its Settings.

I edited robots.txt and want the original back. In the Crawler files card empty the field and click Save in the bar at the bottom.

Where do I set the website's language? For the whole project in SEO → Website language (it applies to funnels and to pages without their own language). A single page can have its own (page Settings → Language) — see Website and pages.

An SEO change did not show on the website. Changes reach visitors after publishing.
