Funnels

What funnels are for

A funnel (sales funnel) is a sequence of pages — steps — that leads a visitor to one goal: from a registration or sales page through checkout and an extra offer to the thank-you page. Unlike website pages, the steps follow one another and you decide where a person goes after each click — for example, whoever declines the extra offer gets a cheaper alternative.

A funnel always belongs to one project. Next to its website, a project can have any number of funnels, and a funnel can also stand at the project's home address.

Where to find funnels

  1. In the left menu, click Content → Projects.
  2. Click the project card. The Studio opens.
  3. In the narrow icon strip on the left, choose the folder icon (Content).
  4. The content panel has a Funnels section. A funnel's steps are nested below it — expanded only for the funnel you have open; expand the others with the arrow next to the funnel name.
  5. Click the funnel name — the funnel overview (storyboard) opens. Clicking a step opens the step page straight in the editor.

If the project has no funnel, the section shows No funnels yet.

What I see in the funnel overview

After you click a funnel in the content panel, the screen has two columns.

The left column has two tabs:

TabWhat it contains
Stepsthe storyboard — steps as cards one below the other, coloured lines from buttons to their target steps, and an Add a step button at the bottom
Funnel settingsname, address, test mode, deleting the funnel

Above the steps there may be an orange notice:

  • Not published — only the team can see it.
  • Test mode — purchases are only simulated, nothing is recorded in the analytics. On a published funnel it reads visitors can see it, but payments are only simulated. The funnel is not selling. The Settings button takes you to the Funnel settings tab.

While generating, the header shows the chip Generating… and you see the progress instead of the storyboard.

The right column has two tabs:

TabWhat it contains
Analyticsthe funnel's traffic and clicks
Step settingssettings of the step selected in the storyboard; with nothing selected, the text Pick a step on the storyboard to see its settings.

The step card in the storyboard

Each card shows:

  • a page preview (or Ešte nepostavené — not built yet) with the step's number,
  • the step name and, on the entry step, the chip Vstup (Entry — where a visitor who opens the funnel arrives),
  • the step type, the step address (/address) and a short description of the type,
  • where the step leads next (arrow) and where on decline (cross),
  • a Buttons section — the buttons on the page and where they lead.

Below the card there may be pri odmietnutí (on decline) and the step a declined offer leads to.

These storyboard labels are shown in Slovak in every language of the app.

Clicking the body of the card only selects the step.

Checkoutthey fill in their details and pay
Upsellan extra offer on top of the order

Upsells and downsells are offers for someone who has just paid an order in the funnel:

  • If the payment gateway can charge the card saved with the order, the customer buys with one click — they do not enter their card again.
  • If it cannot (GoPay never can; Stripe cannot when the customer did not save the card), the extra order is still created, but the customer is sent to the payment gateway and pays it the ordinary way.
  • A visitor who has bought nothing in the funnel in the same browser tab is sent from an upsell or downsell step back to the funnel's first step. Exceptions: a signed-in team member, test mode, and a customer who came through a reservation step.

How to create a funnel

A funnel is always created with the AI builder; an empty funnel cannot be created.

  1. In the content panel, click + next to the Funnels heading (tooltip New funnel). In an empty project you can also click the Funnel card.
  2. Continue as described in AI funnel builder.

The + icon is shown only with the permission Projects → Edit. The Funnel card in an empty project is offered even without it. Having the builder propose a funnel always needs Funnels → Create.

How to edit the content of a step

  1. In the storyboard, click Edit on the step card (or click the step in the content panel).
  2. The step opens in the editor: on the left a column with the tabs Builder (chat) and Settings (step settings), on the right the page preview.
  3. Write in the chat on the Builder tab what to change, or edit the text directly in the preview.

All the editor's options (selecting an element, editing text, inserting, images, version history) are described in Studio editor.

How to add a step

A step can be added only through the chat — the AI builds it, connects the buttons and puts it on the path.

  1. In the Steps tab, click Add a step at the bottom.
  2. The last step of the funnel opens in the editor.
  3. Write in the chat which step you want and where it goes, for example Add an upsell with the product 1:1 Consultation after checkout and send the customer to the thank-you page on decline.
  4. Send the message and wait until the AI finishes.

There is no Add a step button while the funnel has no steps.

How to change the order of steps

The storyboard does not allow reordering by dragging. Open any step of the funnel (Edit) and write in the chat, for example Move the Sales page step before the Registration.

How to set where a button leads

Every button on a step page has an action — where it sends the visitor.

Steps

  1. Open the step in the editor (Edit).
  2. In the preview, hover over the button and click Edit. (A placed form offers three choices: Colours, Fields and Action — click Action.)
  3. The What the button does panel opens (for a form placed in the page: Form).
  4. Fill in the fields as in the table.
  5. Click Save.
FieldRequiredWhat it means
Button textyesthe label on the button (not shown for a form placed in the page)
ActionyesContinue, Buy a product, Form, Decline the offer or Link (not shown for a form placed in the page)
Productfor Buy a productthe product to be bought (searched by name)
Formfor Forma form of the project
How it appearsfor FormIn the page or Opens on click
Addressfor Linkhttps://… outside the funnel, or a #anchor on this page
Then continues to / After submitting, continue tonothe step after the purchase or form submission; The funnel's own path = the next step on the path
On decline go tonoonly for a form that opens on click
  • Continue and Decline the offer follow the funnel's path — the AI sets it when building the funnel; change it in the chat (When the upsell is declined, send the customer to the downsell).
  • Clear the button’s action — the button stays on the page but leads nowhere. It is not offered for a form placed in the page.
  • On a placed form, Colours changes how the form looks and Fields opens the form for editing (fields, products) — see Forms.
  • Save is disabled while the button text, product, form or address is missing.

Insert a new button with Insert element → Button above the preview (see Studio editor).

How to set up a thank-you page

A thank-you page is a step of the type Thank you, in the storyboard and in the builder alike. A funnel usually ends with one; the builder warns when it is missing.

Where the customer goes after a purchase or after submitting a form is decided by the button that starts the purchase or the form:

  1. Open the step with the button in the editor (Edit).
  2. In the preview, hover over the button and click Edit (for a form placed in the page, Action).
  3. In Then continues to (for Buy a product) or After submitting, continue to (for a form), choose the thank-you step — the list shows the step names.
  4. Click Save.

If you leave the field on The funnel's own path, the customer goes to the next step on the funnel's path. The same step applies when the customer pays through a payment gateway — after returning from the gateway they continue to the step set on the button.

Edit the text of the thank-you page like the content of any step (see How to edit the content of a step).

What happens after a form is submitted on an ordinary website page (outside a funnel) is covered in Forms.

How to send a visitor from the website into a funnel

A button on a page of the project's website can lead to the start of a funnel.

  1. Open the website page in the editor.
  2. In the preview, hover over the button and click Edit.
  3. In the Edit button panel, in What it does, choose Start a funnel.
  4. In Funnel, choose the funnel.
  5. Click Save.

The button leads to the start of the funnel, so the link stays correct even if you reorder the steps.

How to set up a step (address, SEO, measurement)

  1. In the storyboard, click Settings on the step card (or select the step and choose the Step settings tab on the right). In an open step, the same settings are on the Settings tab on the left.
  2. Edit the fields.
  3. Click Save (disabled with an empty name).
FieldRequiredWhat it means
Step nameyesthe name in the content panel and the storyboard
Step addressyespart of the step's address; changing it breaks nothing, links point at the step, not the address
Search engine titlenoempty = the project title, or the step name
Search engine descriptionnoempty = the project description
Head scripts for this stepnoreplace the project scripts; empty = the project's are used
Scripts before </body> for this stepnoreplace the project's; empty = the project's are used
Measurement (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel)nomeasurement for this step only; it replaces the project's, it does not add to it
Share previewnothe image shown when the link is shared; PNG/JPG/WEBP up to 5 MB, ideally 1200 × 630 px; saved at once
Allow search engines to index it—off = search engines do not index the step

The next step, the step on decline and products are not changed in the step settings — buttons and the chat do that.

How to delete a step

A step is deleted through the chat so that the AI also reconnects the buttons that pointed at it and the funnel is left without a dead end.

  1. Open the step (Edit) and, on the Settings tab on the left, click Delete.
  2. The window Delete the “…” step in the chat opens.
  3. Click one of the offered sentences, for example Remove the “…” step and aim the buttons that pointed at it at the next one. The sentence is put into the chat.
  4. You can edit the sentence on the Builder tab; then send it.

There is no Delete button when the funnel has a single step — the last step cannot be deleted.

How to rename a funnel and switch on test mode

  1. Open the funnel and choose the Funnel settings tab in the left column.
FieldWhat it meansHow it is saved
Funnel namethe name in the Studiowith the Save button (disabled with an empty name)
Slug (URL)the funnel address; cannot be changed (The address cannot be changed — it is the build’s directory…)—
Public addressthe address of the first step; if the funnel is the project's home page, it is the project address—
Test modeon: a purchase is only simulated, nothing is charged or recorded in the analytics; off: payments go through the gateway for realsaved as soon as you switch it

In test mode the visitor sees a bar on the page Test mode — payments and form submissions are simulated, nothing is stored. Test mode does not change who can see the funnel — publishing decides that.

A step address looks like <project address>/f/<funnel slug>/<step address>. The address <project address>/f/<funnel slug> opens the first step. Which funnel or page opens at the project address itself is set in Project settings and SEO → Home page.

How to publish a funnel

Before you start

  • Go through all steps and check the texts, prices and where the buttons lead.
  • If the funnel sells, switch off Test mode — otherwise payments are only simulated.
  • You need the permission Funnels → Edit.

Steps

  1. Open the funnel (or any of its steps).
  2. In the top bar on the right, click Publish.

Only the open funnel is published; the website and other funnels do not change. The arrow next to Publish shows an overview of all parts and their states — see Publishing.

How to check that it works

  1. The Not published notice disappears from the storyboard.
  2. Open the public address from Funnel settings in a private browser window (a signed-in team member also sees an unpublished funnel).
  3. Go through the funnel as a customer. With test mode on, you pay nothing.

How to take a funnel offline

Open the funnel and click Unpublish in the top bar. A visitor then sees the page This page is under construction; you can still see the funnel.

How to read funnel analytics

Open the funnel and choose the Analytics tab on the right.

IndicatorWhat it means
Total viewsall step views including repeated ones
Total clicksall button clicks
Reached the funnel → finished ithow many different people reached the first step and how many (and what percentage) made it to the end
Flow through the funnel chartpeople per step and what share of the first step reached it — the step with the biggest drop is where changing the text or the offer pays off most
Most clicked buttons chartbutton clicks across the funnel (with more than 10 buttons, the ten most clicked)
tableStep, Views, Buttons

Analytics covers the funnel's whole history — there is no period selection or filter. Visits in test mode are not counted.

How to delete a funnel

  1. Open the funnel and choose Funnel settings in the left column.
  2. At the bottom, below the text Deletes the funnel and all of its steps. This cannot be undone., click the red Delete.
  3. In the Delete funnel dialog, confirm Delete.

You see Funnel deleted. Only someone with the permission Funnels → Delete sees the Delete button. If the funnel was the project's home page, set a new home page in Project settings and SEO.

The app does not offer duplicating a funnel.

How customer details carry over between steps

The name, e-mail and phone a customer fills in on one step are pre-filled automatically in the next forms of the funnel. A whole pass through the funnel therefore creates one client and one deal in the CRM. Nothing needs to be set up.

Who can work with funnels

Permissions are in the permission matrix, module Content.

Common questions and problems with funnels

I do not see the + icon at Funnels. You lack the permission Projects → Edit.

I published the funnel but no payments are taken. The funnel is in Test mode. Switch it off in Funnel settings.

In the publishing overview the funnel shows "Test mode", although I switched it off. The publishing overview uses this label for a funnel that is not published yet as well. Click Publish next to it.

"The home funnel … is not live, so it is not published". The funnel stands at the project's home address and is not published. Publish the funnel first, then the project.

The upsell sends the customer to the payment gateway instead of a one-click purchase. The gateway cannot charge the saved card — with GoPay that is always the case, with Stripe when the customer did not save the card at checkout. The customer pays the extra offer through the gateway as usual.

The upsell sends visitors back to the start of the funnel. Only someone who paid an order in the funnel in the same browser tab (or came through a reservation) reaches an upsell or downsell step. If the upsell has no Checkout step in front of it, no customer reaches it. You, as a signed-in team member, and test mode are exempt.

The customer sees "This offer has expired. Please return to the shop and order again." An extra offer can only be accepted within 30 minutes of the order. A customer who comes back later has to order again.

How do I stop a funnel being generated? Open any step of the funnel and click the Stop button in the chat box (shown while the generation runs). You see Generation stopped. The funnel is not deleted — whatever was created so far stays.

I cannot delete a step. It is the last step of the funnel. Delete the whole funnel.
